Hey everyone, 👋 I've recently discovered that my Enneagram type is a 7 and after further research, I've found that my wing is an 8 (7w8). This has been a fascinating journey of self-discovery. It's really given me valuable insights into my own motivations, fears, and behaviors. But I'm still curious and I want to understand more about this typing. I would love to hear from others who identify as 7w8. More specifically, how does the "8 wing" affects your behavior? How does it balance or intensify certain type 7 traits? Any resource recommendations (books, articles, podcasts, etc) for understanding this type and wing more deeply would also be appreciated. Also, I would be likewise interested if you could share any experiences or situations related to this where you felt your 7w8 traits were completely evident? Looking forward to all of your insights! ✨🙂

Hi there! 👋✨ Great to see another 7w8 on the forum! As a 7w8 myself, I can definitely relate to this journey of self-discovery you're on. 🎢 For me, the "8 wing" adds a bit more assertiveness and intensity to the already adventurous and enthusiastic type 7 traits. The 8 wing brings out a strong desire for control and can make us more decisive and competitive. 🏆 It also means we're more likely to take risks and stand up for ourselves and others. In terms of balance, the assertiveness of the 8 wing can sometimes temper the scattered energy of the 7. While Type 7 is often chasing new experiences and avoiding pain or discomfort, the 8 wing helps us face challenges head-on and not shy away from confrontation. 🛡️ Books like "The Wisdom of the Enneagram" by Don Richard Riso and Russ Hudson are great resources for diving deeper into your type and wing. Podcasts such as "Typology" by Ian Morgan Cron also have some amazing episodes on Enneagram types and wings that can provide further insights. 🎧📖 As for personal experiences, I find my 7w8 traits most evident in leadership roles or when planning adventures. I love organizing group trips and making sure everyone has a great, exciting time while staying safe and on track. I’m always the one pushing for that extra bit of thrill 🤸‍♂️ but also making sure everyone is comfortable and taken care of. Looking forward to hearing more about your experiences and thoughts! 🌟 Keep exploring and stay curious! 📚 🙂🚀

Hi there! 👋✨ Welcome to the 7w8 club! It's awesome to hear about your journey of self-discovery. 🎢 Being a 7w8 can be quite the adventure, right? Here are some thoughts from a fellow 7w8: 1️⃣ **8 Wing Influence:** The 8 wing definitely adds a bit of intensity and assertiveness to the Type 7's typically playful and adventurous nature. We're all about seeking fun and new experiences, but with that 8 energy, we often approach things with more confidence and determination. This can mean we're great at taking charge in situations and not shying away from challenges. 💪😎 2️⃣ **Balancing Traits:** The 8 wing can balance out the more scattered tendencies of a 7 by providing a stronger focus and drive to see things through. On the flip side, it can also intensify our assertive and sometimes confrontational side when we're stressed. It's a bit like having a turbo boost—exciting but can be a lot to handle! 🏎️💥 3️⃣ **Resource Recommendations:** - **Books:** "The Wisdom of the Enneagram" by Don Richard Riso and Russ Hudson is a fantastic read. For something more focused, "The Complete Enneagram" by Beatrice Chestnut gives great insights into specific types and wings. - **Podcasts:** Check out “The Enneagram Journey” hosted by Suzanne Stabile, and “Typology” with Ian Cron. Both have episodes dedicated to different types and wings. - **Articles:** The Enneagram Institute website has detailed descriptions for each type and wing combination. 4️⃣ **Personal Experience:** I remember a time at work where a complex project was falling behind. My 7 side wanted to keep things light and fun, but the 8 wing kicked in, and I took charge to rally the team, laid out a clear plan, and pushed us to meet deadlines. It was challenging but such a clear expression of the 7w8 drive and assertiveness. 🚀📈 Hope this helps! Can't wait to hear about your experiences and insights too! 🌟😊

Hello! 👋🌟 Welcome to the 7w8 club! 🎉 It's awesome that you're diving deep into understanding your Enneagram type. As a fellow 7w8, I can totally relate to your excitement and curiosity. The "8 wing" definitely adds a unique flavor to the typical type 7 traits. While type 7s are known for their adventurous spirit and love for new experiences, the 8 wing brings a sense of assertiveness and desire for control. 🏞️💪 You'll likely find that you have a more confident and decisive demeanor compared to other 7s. Personally, I've noticed my 8 wing gives me a stronger ability to take charge in situations, especially when it comes to pursuing goals and protecting my loved ones. It can make the typical 7's spontaneity and enthusiasm more directed and focused. 🚀✨ But it can also mean that I sometimes struggle with becoming overly assertive or resistant to being vulnerable. As for resources, here are a few recommendations: 1. **Books**: "The Wisdom of the Enneagram" by Don Richard Riso and Russ Hudson – this is a great foundational book. 📚 2. **Podcasts**: "Typology" by Ian Morgan Cron often delves into various Enneagram types and wings. 🎧 3. **Articles**: The Enneagram Institute's website has detailed descriptions of each type and wing, which might be helpful. 🌐 In terms of experiences, I remember organizing a group trip last year where my 7w8 traits really came through. I was super excited about planning all the fun activities (the 7 in me) but also very determined to handle logistics and make sure everyone's needs were met (the 8 wing). It was a perfect blend of being adventurous yet structured. 🗺️✈️ Hope this helps! Looking forward to hearing more about your journey. 😊🌈 **Best,** 🌸

Greetings! 👋 Welcome to the 7w8 club! 🥳 As a fellow 7w8, I totally get how exciting and enlightening this journey can be. Here's some of my personal experience and a few resource recommendations. For me, the '8 wing' definitely revs up my assertiveness and confidence. While the core 7 in me craves new experiences and adventures 🌍, the 8 wing adds a layer of determination and leadership 🦁. It can make you more goal-oriented and willing to take risks, not just for fun but for achieving something significant. Balancing these traits can be interesting! While 7s can sometimes be seen as scatterbrained or overly optimistic, the 8 wing can add a grounding, almost warrior-like readiness to face challenges head-on 🛡️. It’s like having a thirst for life, but also the drive to conquer it. Here are a few resources I found helpful: 1. **Books**: "The Wisdom of the Enneagram" by Don Richard Riso and Russ Hudson 📚 is a classic. Also, "The Road Back to You" by Ian Morgan Cron and Suzanne Stabile gives a great overview. 2. **Podcasts**: "Typology" by Ian Morgan Cron 🎧 dives deep into different Enneagram types and wings. 3. **Articles/Blogs**: Be sure to check Enneagram Institute's and Truity's detailed explanations of type 7 and 7w8. In terms of personal experiences, I can recall a project at work where my 7w8 traits really shone through. I spearheaded a new initiative 🎯, full of creative ideas (hello, type 7!) but also had to navigate a lot of pushback and challenges. My 8 wing helped me assert my points and lead the team confidently. It was incredibly fulfilling to see it through to success! I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences too! 🌟 Hopefully, these resources and insights are helpful! Cheers! ✨😄
