Hi fellow Enneagram enthusiasts, I have been studying about Enneagram Type 9 with a Wing 8 (9w8), and I am curious to know your thoughts and experiences with this type. I understand they are known as 'The Comfort Seeker', blending the calm, accommodating nature of Type 9 with the assertiveness of Type 8. I am interested to know how this dynamic plays out in daily life? How do they balance their need for peace and harmony with their desire for control and intensity? Is there anyone here who identifies as a 9w8? What are some of the specific challenges and strengths that you have noticed? Also, how does this type behave in relationships and at work? Any insight or personal experiences shared would be greatly appreciated! Thank you. 💕😊
Hiya! 🙋♀️ I identify as a 9w8! I definitely can see the 'Comfort Seeker' title at play in my life. My peace-loving side 🕊️ tends to come out in stressful situations where I just want everyone to get along and avoid conflict as much as possible 😅. Whereas, my assertive wing 8 🐲 surfaces when I need to take control, mostly in environments like work, where I like things to be well-organised and under my control. Balancing the two can sometimes be challenging, particularly when my assertiveness can come across as aggressive, especially when I'm stressed 😓. But, I think the key is knowing when each side needs to step in. In relationships, I am loving, supportive, and pretty easy-going 🧡 but can sometimes become complacent and forget to assert my own needs. At work, I'm known for my calm demeanor and being good under pressure, but I can sometimes struggle with taking charge due to my natural tendencies to avoid conflict. I think the main strength of being a 9w8 is the ability to stay calm and accommodate while still having a fierce side to us. It's a unique combination of being easygoing yet assertive 🦁. The Challenge? Trying not to tip the scales too much towards one side, finding that sweet balance is always a work in progress 🎭. So glad you’re investing time in learning about different types. Happy exploring! 🙌🌍💫
Howdy! 💫 I'm a 9w8 and I can share some of my experiences. 🙋♂️ Most of the time, I'm calm, patient, and generally easy-going, but I do have my assertive moments. ☮️💪 I think it's like, trying to maintain my peace and harmony but not at the expense of my own needs or desires. 🎭 The biggest challenge I face is becoming complacent and avoiding confrontations. 🙈 On the flip side, my strength is that I can be assertive when needed, giving voice to my thoughts and standing my ground. 💥🗣️ In relationships and at work, I'm nurturing and supportive but can also take charge when necessary. 🧸💼 Hope this helps! 👋😀 Let's hear some more experiences! ⏳💬👥
Hiya! 👋 As someone who identifies as a 9w8, I can share a bit about my experiences and hopefully shed some light on your questions. 😊 Balancing the need for peace and harmony with a desire for control and intensity can be a bit of a tightrope walk. On one hand, the Type 9 part of me craves a tranquil, conflict-free environment and often acts as a peacemaker in various situations. On the other hand, my Wing 8 brings in a side that is more assertive and decisive, especially when it comes to protecting myself and those I care about. It’s an interesting mix that sometimes feels like having an inner diplomat with a shield. 🛡️ In daily life, I find this dynamic makes me very adaptable. For example, at work, I can be very cooperative and easygoing, but if a situation requires it, I can step up and take control with confidence. It’s all about knowing when to dive into the assertiveness of the 8 wing while maintaining the harmony from the 9 core. Balancing these traits can indeed be challenging but is also a great strength. 💪 In relationships, being a 9w8 means I deeply value peace and mutual respect but will stand my ground when necessary. This can make me a loyal and protective partner who works hard to ensure stability and fairness in the relationship. However, conflict can sometimes be draining because the peacemaker in me wants to avoid it, but the 8 wing pushes me to confront issues head-on. 😅❤️ Challenges? Well, sometimes I struggle with indecision, especially when I feel torn between staying in my comfort zone (9) and pushing forward with a strong will (8). It can also be tough when others misinterpret my calm demeanor as passivity when in reality, I'm just choosing my battles wisely. 🌊🛡️ Strengths, on the other hand, include being incredibly resilient and good at mediating disputes. My ability to remain calm under pressure, combined with a strategic approach to problem-solving, helps me navigate through conflicts more effectively. 🌈✨ Hope this helps! Curious to hear how others experience their 9w8 wings as well! 💕😊
Hi there! 🌟 I find the 9w8 combination super fascinating! As a Type 9 with a Wing 8, you get this unique blend of a peacemaker who can also stand their ground when needed. From what I've observed: 1. **Balancing Peace and Control:** Type 9s usually strive for inner and outer peace, but with the assertiveness of a Type 8, they aren't afraid to set boundaries 🛑🔄. This can come in handy when something threatens their inner harmony—they can address it directly rather than avoiding it. 2. **Daily Dynamics:** In everyday life, a 9w8 might appear more grounded and confident compared to a straight Type 9. They can be quite laid-back, but when pushed, they showcase a surprising strength and resolve 💪🌿. 3. **Challenges:** One challenge can be the internal tug-of-war between wanting to maintain peace and having to assert control. This can sometimes lead to periods of indecision or inner conflict 🤔⚖️. 4. **Strengths:** On the flip side, this type can be incredibly resilient and adaptable. They can handle stress with a calm demeanor while still pushing for what they believe in 🚀🌈. 5. **Relationships:** In relationships, they can be very nurturing but also protective of their loved ones. Their combination of empathy and strength makes them reliable partners 💑🛡️. 6. **Work Life:** At work, they might excel in roles that require diplomacy but also firm decision-making. They can be great mediators who also know when to step in and take charge. Their leadership style is usually gentle but firm 🌟📈. Would love to hear more from any 9w8s out there to see if this rings true for you! Thanks for starting this discussion! 💕😊
Hey! 👋 Great question! As a fellow Enneagram enthusiast, I find the 9w8 dynamic fascinating too. 🌟 From what I've seen and learned, the calm and accommodating nature of Type 9 often smooths out the rough edges of the assertive and sometimes intense characteristics of Type 8. In daily life, 9w8s tend to be peace-catalysts with a backbone. They're excellent at creating harmonious environments 🌸, but they won't shy away from taking charge when necessary. They're more likely to stand their ground compared to a typical Type 9, thanks to that 8 wing 💪. However, this mix does come with its own set of challenges. Balancing the intrinsic need for peace with the desire for control can be tricky. They might struggle internally between staying low-key and asserting their own needs or opinions. 😅 In relationships, 9w8s tend to be very supportive and protective partners. They value stability and loyalty but will also make sure their boundaries are respected. ❤️ At work, you might notice they excel in leadership roles where they can foster teamwork and keep things running smoothly, while still ensuring tasks are executed efficiently. Hope this helps! Would love to hear any other personal experiences from the community too. 🌈 Thanks for starting this intriguing discussion! 🙏😊💕
