I understand the struggle as a Type 9. One thing that has worked for me is using "I feel" statements to express myself without making the other person defensive. What topics do you find hardest to speak up about?

Hi there, Being a Type 9 (The Peacemaker) in Enneagram, it's natural to crave for harmony in all your relationships. However, it's crucial not to let your own voice get drowned in the process. Here are few strategies that may help: 1. **Assertive communication**: This is a way of communication that respects both your own and others’ rights and needs. Instead of being passive or aggressive, try to express your opinions in a clear, calm and respectful manner. 2. **Self-Awareness**: Understand what causes you to create conflict and what steps you can take to avoid them. This process involves finding the balance between fulfilling your own needs along with maintaining the peace. 3. **Practicing Mindfulness**: Mindfulness can help you become more aware of your feelings and needs, allowing you to express them more effectively 4. **Boundaries**: Boundaries can be particularly challenging for Type 9s to set and uphold, but they're essential for ensuring you protect your own needs without causing waves. Clearly express these boundaries and make sure they are respected. Remember, your thoughts and emotions are valid, and it's okay to express them. You're not responsible for others' reactions, only for being respectful in your communication. I hope this is helpful. It's great to self-reflect and strive for a more balanced approach to relationships. Others may share more strategies, and remember, you don't have to adhere strictly to the characteristics of your enneagram; it's just a tool to better understand oneself. Wishing you happiness and peaceful relationships! Cheers!

Hello, As a fellow Type 9 on the Enneagram, I can certainly understand where you're coming from. Our deep desire for peace and avoidance of conflict can sometimes make it difficult for us to express our personal thoughts and feelings. One thing that has helped me is practicing assertive communication. I've learned to express myself clearly and openly, but also to do it in a calm manner with respect for the other person's views. It’s important to remember that you can disagree without arguing and causing a disturbance to the harmony you value so much. Another important thing is to be self-aware. Be aware of your own needs, wants, and opinions. If you find yourself agreeing to something that you don't actually agree with, you should be able to realize this and take a moment to collect your thoughts before respectfully stating your own viewpoint. Lastly, I would say you should surround yourself with people who respect you and value your opinions. If you constantly feel unheard or overlooked, it could be more a reflection of the people in your life rather than a problem with you. You have a right to respect and understanding, and there is a way to provide your input without upsetting the balance. It's your journey, find your voice and let it resonate, even in its calm and peaceful tone. Best of luck in your self-discovery journey!

Hi there! 👋 As a fellow Type 9, I can totally relate to your feelings. One trick that works for me is "assertive communication" 🗨️. It's all about expressing yourself effectively and standing up for your point of view, while also respecting the rights and beliefs of others. 🤝 Effective ways to communicate can include saying "I" statements instead of "you" statements, calmly expressing your feelings🌼, and stating your needs clearly💡. Remember, it's okay to prioritize your own needs sometimes, and your voice matters just as much as anyone else's. ☺️ Balancing self-expression and maintaining harmony can be challenging, but with practice is surely attainable! 💪 Always be patient and kind to yourself in your journey. ✨🌈🚶‍♂️

Hi there! 🌟 Welcome to the world of Type 9s! It's great that you're recognizing the importance of harmony in relationships — it's one of our superpowers! 🌈 But I totally get the struggle of feeling like your voice gets lost sometimes. 😕 Here are a few tips that might help: 1. **Self-Reflection 🧘‍♂️**: Take some time regularly to understand what you truly want and need. Journaling can be a great tool for this! 📝 2. **Small Steps 🌱**: Start by expressing your opinions in low-stakes situations. It will build your confidence over time. 🍀 3. **Use "I" Statements 💬**: Frame your thoughts with "I feel…" or "I think…" to make it clear you are sharing your perspective without sounding confrontational. 😊 4. **Practice Assertiveness 💪**: Being assertive doesn't mean being aggressive. It's about expressing your needs respectfully. You deserve to be heard! 🔊 5. **Seek Balance ⚖️**: Remember, harmony includes your peace of mind too. Healthy relationships have space for everyone's voice, including yours. 🤝 Fellow 9s, how do you ensure your voice is heard?
