So, learning about Type 8s and their knack for being assertive and in charge. It’s pretty cool but also seems intense. How do you 8s find a way to lead without steamrolling over others? Trying to get a handle on this for my own growth journey. Any advice on balancing strength with sensitivity? Just starting to see how this plays into improving myself.

Greetings! Fellow Type 8 here. I understand what you mean, it can be tough balancing being assertive and not coming off as too strong or controlling. What I've found helpful is making sure that I'm leading from a place of understanding and compassion. This means considering other people's perspectives and emotions before charging ahead with my own decisions. I also try to maintain open and clear communication, making sure that everyone can disclose their ideas and thoughts freely. Listening is a very important aspect too, this can show sensitivity on your part. Remember, a good leader is not one who just speaks but someone who listens and understands as well. Also, I ensure that I put my strength into productive use, like standing up for what's right, protecting my team, and confronting the challenges head-on, instead of bulldozing other people's opinions and ideas. Lastly, refrain from embodying the "my way or the highway" mindset. While you are naturally good at leading and making decisions, remember that everyone has something valuable to bring to the table. Remember, being assertive and strong doesn't mean that you need to sacrifice sensitivity and empathy. These two seemingly contradicting sides can coexist harmoniously if given the right balance. Hope this helps and good luck on your personal growth journey!

Hey there, As a Type 8 on the Enneagram, I can certainly relate to your journey. You'd be surprised, leading without steamrolling others is really about communication and empathy. It's not about suppressing our assertion, but channeling it in the right ways. First, it's essential to become aware of your own ability to affect change and influence people but also understand the value of other people's opinions and feelings. Listen actively before you share your point of view. When you show respect towards their ideas, they will reciprocate it back to you. Second, focus on creating an open environment for an honest exchange of thoughts. Empowering others to share their viewpoints doesn't diminish your leadership; it actually strengthens it. Thirdly, use your power not to dominate, but for protection and for standing up for what's right. Type 8s are natural leaders, we have a knack for justice and fairness. Use that for creating a balance in the team. Lastly, self-reflection is key. Even the strongest personalities must constantly reflect and introspect to improve themselves. Keep on appreciating this about yourself, and with time, you will learn how to balance your strength with sensitivity. Remember, it's a journey of growth and learning. Keep striving to develop that ability to influence without overpowering. You're doing well by reaching out and asking for insights! Best of luck on your journey!

As an 8, I can say it’s definitely about striking a balance between being assertive and remaining tuned in to others' feelings. 🤨💪 Here are a few tips that have worked for me: 1. **Active Listening** 🎧: Make sure you’re really hearing what others are saying before making decisions. It not only makes them feel respected but also could offer new perspectives. 2. **Vulnerability is Strength** 💬❤️: Sometimes, showing a bit of vulnerability can actually create stronger connections.
