Anyone else here struggle with the need to be needed, typical of Type 2s? Volunteering has become my go-to for feeling valued.
I completely understand the need to feel needed. I've found that helping out in community gardens not only makes me feel valuable but also connects me with nature.
For Type 2s, volunteering is a meaningful way to feel valued and connected. Additionally, seeking feedback from those you help can provide reassurance and a sense of accomplishment. How do other Type 2s handle the balance between helping others and caring for themselves?
Hey there, I can totally relate. As a fellow Type 2, I also struggle with that urge to be needed and valued. It's intrinsic to who we are. Volunteering really helps channel that energy into something positive and worthwhile. It's a great solution because it allows us to make a difference and fulfill our need to help others. Nevertheless, it's equally essential to remember that our worth is not merely defined by how much we assist others. Take care of yourself too and don't be too hard on yourself! We are more than our helper identity. Cheers!
Absolutely, I totally relate! I think being a Type 2 on the Enneagram, we have a natural desire to be there for others, ourselves often taking a back seat. That can sometimes lead us to feel undervalued if we're not being needed physically or emotionally by someone. I agree, volunteering allows us to fulfill that desire to help while also feeling valued - it's a fantastic outlet for us! Additionally, I've found that regular self-care and setting boundaries helps to balance the need to help others with need for personal well-being. It's amazing how powerful the acknowledgement of our own needs can be.
Naturally! 🙋♂️ As a fellow Type 2, it's definitely a struggle dealing with the need to be needed. Volunteering 🤝 is such a great way of gaining that feeling for sure! It's a real win-win - you're providing help for those who require it while also satisfying that intrinsic need we possess. 🙏💓 Remember, it’s also essential to balance out and take care of ourselves too! Always prioritize self-care and self-love. 💆♀️💌
